Job seekers need to make the most of the online job hunting process

In the rush to find a job in the digital era, many people miss out on the most important part of the job hunt: actually looking for a job.

“Online job searching is an incredibly exciting time for people,” says Michelle Gorman, chief executive officer of online job search platform CareerBuilder.

“People are searching for jobs on a variety of platforms, from platforms like Facebook and Twitter, to platforms like LinkedIn, LinkedIn Groups, and job boards.”

“They’re going online to look for jobs,” Ms Gorman says.

“It’s a big opportunity for people who want to work on a team.”

But for those who aren’t looking for an online job, there are a number of resources available to help.

Below is a list of some of the best tools and resources you can use to find work, from online job boards to job boards.


LinkedIn: Find your dream job.

You can use LinkedIn to get job offers, search for jobs in your area, and even add a job title to your profile.

While there are several different kinds of jobs, some of them involve a lot of reading, writing, speaking and social media.

“There’s so much information out there that people can do with it that is relevant to their job,” Ms Gibson says.

For example, people can use the site to find out about job openings, and they can also see the top 100 jobs available in a specific industry.

“We have a lot more people who are looking for jobs right now than people who were looking at jobs in the past,” she says.

There are also job boards, where job seekers can connect with others looking for work in their area.

“Job boards are great for finding out if you have the right skills and you can connect to people who might be looking for those skills,” Ms Gillan says.

Ms Gannon also recommends checking out a job board for people looking to get a job, because they are usually based in your local area.

You could also look at the company you’re applying to.

“If you look at some of these companies that are looking to hire, they will have a specific focus on the people that they need,” Ms Cavanagh says.

This may be for specific jobs or specific fields.

You may also want to check out your local media, where you might find information about a particular topic or job.

For some companies, such as Google, there is a daily digest of the most popular articles on the company’s website, with job postings and job descriptions to help you find a new job.


Twitter: Find a job you love.

“Twitter has been the primary way for many people to get connected to jobs, job postings, and career sites,” Ms Dominguez says.

You might be able to use the social network to find specific information on a particular job, and then see other people who have also applied for the same job.

Ms Cogan also recommends using the company search engine to see if anyone is already applying for a specific job.

While you can search by keywords, it’s important to look out for job titles, job descriptions, and keywords to find the exact job you’re looking for.

“I’ve used Twitter for several years and it’s still one of the premier places to find job opportunities, regardless of the platform you’re using,” Ms Krummel says.

If you’re still struggling with finding a job online, there’s also an app called the LinkedIn Job Finder, which can help you search for a particular position within a company.


Job Searching Software: Find what you need.

Some of the main tools you’ll want to use include LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, and other job search platforms.

“You can use these tools to search for specific job listings, for job opportunities within a specific company or for a certain industry,” Ms Tompkins says.

Other useful tools include hiring tools like Glassdoor, and hiring platforms like Monster.

Ms Gibson also recommends looking at the job board that is closest to you to see what companies have the most vacancies.

“The best place to find information is on the boards themselves,” she adds.
