SAN ANTONIO — A House committee approved a bill Tuesday that would allow transgender people to use the restroom that matches their gender identity.
The House Judiciary Committee voted 19-5 to approve House Bill 1068, which would require Texas schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms that correspond to their gender identities.
The bill now goes to the full House for consideration.
